Premier Ball says Finance Minister Tom Osborne will be meeting with federal Finance Minister Bill Morneau this evening.

Dwight Ball says discussions are ongoing in terms of borrowing levels required by this province. He states that everyone—including the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance—know Newfoundland and Labrador’s fiscal situation.

The Premier says they’re working daily with the federal government on the impact COVID-19 is having on the province.

Ball indicates there is financial aid coming for employees and employers at small, medium and larger-scale businesses.

He says it’s in preparation for challenges following this health crisis, so businesses—as employment generators—are in a position to respond quickly.
