A man wanted on several outstanding arrest warrants was tracked down by officers in the capital city Sunday afternoon.

RNC say they were contacted with a report that a wanted man had been spotted in the area of downtown St. John’s. However, when officers located the man, he fled from officers on foot.

The RNC K9 unit was brought in, and ultimately tracked down the 38-year-old man.

He was arrested on seven outstanding arrest warrants, and was taken to lockup for a court appearance.
