A major update today on how the current pandemic will impact students in the province’s K-12 school system.
Public and final exams have been cancelled for this year. That update was provided today by Education Minister Brian Warr.
If school should resume before the end of the school year, the remaining time will be devoted to learning, rather than exams.
Marks will be delivered to students in April based on their work completed up to when schools were closed.
Minister Warr says the grades received will reflect work done up to March 13, and will be communicated to students by April 22.
Minister Warr is encouraging students to continue to communicate with their teachers to ensure that they reach curriculum outcomes.
For graduating students, conversations are underway with post-secondary institutions to determine entrance and scholarship requirements.
