Health Minister John Haggie echoed the importance of staying home if you are not well during Saturday’s provincial COVID-19 update.
Haggie says as a province we need to work together to flatten the curve and buy the province time to prepare for a spike in COVID-19.
Preparations are being carried out over the weekend in each of the health authorities. Haggie says buildings are being altered as well as the flow of patients to be able to cope with an influx of COVID-19 cases.
Haggie says no matter what your test result, it is imperative to stay home. He says it’s is not a matter of if, but when will the spike come.
He says a positive result means stay home, a negative result means stay home, and if you feel unwell whatsoever you must stay home. Haggie says the only safe assumption to make is that the virus is near you.
