Premier Dwight Ball is following the lead of some other jurisdictions in declaring the Easter Bunny an essential worker.
Ball, who is a grandfather, offered a special message to the province’s children in today’s update. He commended all the children and their families who are making the most of their time at home.
He’s seen what he considers some “pretty cool ideas” including building forts, drawing pictures and decorating their windows.
He commended those playing musical instruments, something he admits he can’t do, and he looks forward to getting pictures painted by his grand-daughter Antonia, which he expects will be arriving in the mail.
For children worried about whether the Easter Bunny will be able to visit, Ball offered this assurance that he is considered an essential worker.
He spoke with the Easter Bunny who indicated that he may not get to every home, but he’d try to deliver Easter Eggs to as many homes as possible given the circumstances.
#NEW: Premier Ball says Easter Bunny is in fact a very important essential worker.
Ball says he spoke with the Bunny and they’ll do their best job to get to everyone. Says this year children may receive a personal letter, or something different.@VOCMNEWS #covid19nfld
