Residents of Alderwood Retirement Centre in Witless Bay were treated to a special in-house concert earlier this week.

The seniors’ home is currently on lockdown to protect those who live there from the dangers of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Local singer Con O’Brien dropped by the home to serenade the tenants.

O’Brien sang from outside the home on the front porch while residents sat and listened from behind the closed patio doors, many of them holding signs expressing their love for the musician.

At one point, O’Brien sang “Let Me Fish Off Cape St. Mary’s,” while the whole room excitedly accompanied him.
