A man and a woman are in trouble with the law after an incident in centre city St. John’s on Saturday.

At 4:30 p.m., the RNC responded to a report of a person with an axe and uttering threats outside of a residence.

Police arrived to the area and located two suspects – a 46-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman.

The man was arrested for assault with a weapon, uttering threats and failing to comply with a court order. He was brought to the lockup.

The woman was arrested for uttering threats. She was released to appear in court at a later date.
