WorkplaceNL has changed their youth safety programs due to the closure of schools and now they are extending deadlines to allow for more youth to get involved with their virtual contests and awards.

The deadline for the Student Safety Video/Radio ad contest has been extended until May 20. Students from grades 7 to 12 are being asked to send a video or audio recording that promotes occupational health and safety. The prizes are valued at $2,000.

The Youth Safety Training Bursary deadline has been extended until June 30 for people ages 15 to 19.

Two in-person awards have been cancelled for the year but WorkplaceNL is offering their self-paced Young Worker Online OHS Course for free through their website.
