Federal Seniors Minister Debbie Schulte says recommendations have been released to help keep residents of long-term care homes safe.
She says wherever possible they recommend limiting work for employees to one facility.
Other recommendations include restricting visitors, screening residents daily and screening visitors/volunteers upon entry. Staff and visitors are being encouraged to wear a mask at all times, she says.
Schulte says applauds many long-term care facilities for their work so far with guidelines.
However, she says it will take more than just these guidelines to keep everyone safe.
