A special weather statement has been issued for Wednesday evening for the Avalon, Burin Peninsula and Clarenville areas.
Todd Anstett, Meteorologist with Environment Canada says residents of Clarenville shouldn’t put their shovels or snow blowers away just yet.
Between 10 to 20 cm of snow is on the way, with a risk of it changing over to freezing rain overnight into early Thursday morning.
The Avalon and Burin Peninsulas won’t see any snow.
He says 15 to 25 mm of rain is projected but the amounts are uncertain at this time.
Anstett says winds will gust up to about 70 km/h around coastal areas, but mostly on the Southern Avalon.
