A 21-year-old man from Piccadilly has been charged after a young woman was sent to hospital following an ATV crash on the Port au Port Peninsula.

RCMP tracked the accused down after the woman—reportedly a passenger on the machine—was taken to hospital in Stephenville for injuries suffered in the crash.

The driver was located at a home in Lourdes and was also taken to hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the crash.

He’s now facing possible charges of impaired driving causing bodily harm and leaving the scene of an accident.

Police are awaiting the results of blood sampling while the investigation continues.
