The province has five new confirmed cases of COVID-19—all in the Eastern Health region.
That brings the total number of cases in the province to 252. Of those, 234 are in the Eastern Health region, eight in Central, four in the Western Health region and six in Labrador-Grenfell Health.
The good news is that the majority of cases, 170 are now recovered.
Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Janice Fitzgerald says while the number of new cases has been relatively steady over the last week or so, the momentum needs to keep going.
She says the day is coming when we will look back on the current situation knowing that the collective resolve of residents helped to define the overall impact of the illness.
The Public Health Emergency Order has been extended for another 14 days.
