Opposition MHAs are putting some pressure to bear on government over the condition of the Conception Bay Highway.

MHA for Conception Bay South Barry Petten says Route 60 says the road is in poor shape and it won’t get any better through the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Paul Dinn who represents Topsail says conversations with Transportation Minister Steve Crocker have be encouraging, but concerns remain about how crews can adequately practice social distancing.

The highway also runs through Conception Bay Centre represented by Helen Conway-Ottenheimer.

Petten says work must continue to ensure that the condition of the road is addressed once the province gets back to normalcy.
