A former school board official on the Burin Peninsula has lost an appeal of fraud and breach offenses.
Derek Newhook was the regional manager for the Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador School District.
He was convicted of two counts of fraud and one count of breach of trust in the summer of 2018.
Newhook appealed but was able to convince only one of three judges that the convictions were unfounded.
He contends that the trial judge misapprehended material evidence in the case, resulting in a miscarriage of justice.
