At the root of a health crisis, the Nature Conservancy of Canada says the relationship people have with the planet is important.
Today is Earth Day and the conservancy says it is an opportunity to reflect on how we take care of the environment.
Many of the fruits and vegetables that are shipped to Canada are pollinated by non-native honeybees that are shipped around the world but with less shipments on the move, the role of native pollinators is now more important.
The conservancy says the outdoors is also being appreciated more since people are spending time physically distancing in nature.
They say that there is a silver lining to the current situation and that is the opportunity to learn more about wildlife in our communities.
