The MHA who represents Bell Island assures residents that there are no plans to close the long-term care facility in Wabana.

Long-term care homes are by far the hardest-hit segment of the population, so the residents have been moved to Chancellor Park in St. John’s as a precaution.

Conception Bay East-Bell Island MHA David Brazil says health care personnel on the island also have to deal with other health care situations which would prevent them from returning to the long-term care home.

Brazil says they will return to Bell Island once we get past the COVID-19 situation.
