The Department of Health and Community Services is reminding people that under no circumstances should cleaning products be consumed or injected into the human body.
This after recent social media activity about whether certain products may be used as a treatment for COVID-19. The department says the claim is false and poses serious danger to people.

During U.S. President Donald Trump’s daily news conference on Thursday, as an official from the Department of Homeland Security provided information about tests Trump made a remark that made him quickly contradict himself.
The announcement was information on how lab tests indicated sunlight and cleaning agents drastically weakened COVID-19 on surfaces. Trump added that maybe it could work on humans.
Since then, global cleaning brands and many authorities have issued releases reminding the public that this information is incorrect. If consumed or injected into the human body, there is a risk of poisoning or in some cases, death.
