A 63-year-old man has been charged under the Forestry Act following a house fire last weekend in Piccadilly on the Port au Port Peninsula.
The building, which was vacant and condemned, was destroyed by an intentionally-set grass fire.
The man was charged with burning without a permit.
The provincial government has expanded fire regulations preventing almost all brush or grass burning for the entire summer.
