The province has one new case of COVID-19, after days of no new confirmed reports of the virus.
The single case is in the Eastern Health region.
There have been only three new cases reported in Newfoundland and Labrador in the last two weeks.
That brings to 259 the total number of confirmed cases in the province. Four people are in hospital, one of whom is in ICU, and 230 people have recovered.
Three people have died.
The province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health has extended the province’s Public Health Emergency for another two weeks, but says if new cases remain relatively flat, she expects to move to Alert Level 4 by May 11. That will see the easing of certain public health restrictions as was announced yesterday.
In the meantime, the daily provincial COVID update will resume on Monday.
The latest figures on the virus will be issued by government release on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.
