Each project will have the chance to receive $5,000.
Program goals, as per MusicNL:
- To grow the music sector during the Covid-19 timeframe and aftermath
- To enhance artist potential through professional development
- To increase or stabilize earned incomes within the Music Sector over the long term
- To improve/sustain competitiveness in export markets
- To increase the impact of cultural products, events, and attractions in the long term
- To enhance the stability of music sector professionals
- To contribute to the stabilization and growth of self-sustaining economic activity within the sector
Board chair Amy House says they are particularly interested in exploring complementary and enhanced approaches.
House says it is an opportunity for musicians to think outside the box in ways that they could not afford, previously, or may have not previously had the time. She says it’s all about enhancing projects on which they were already working.
The application deadline is May 7.
