The MHA for Harbour Grace – Port de Grave has received numerous concerns from fish harvesters and plant workers around working conditions due to COVID-19.
Pam Parsons says with the fishery scheduled to open on May 11th, harvesters are worried about what they see as a lack of support from Ottawa.
She says safety is top of mind for both plant workers and harvesters.
She says harvesters are worried that they won’t survive this season without federal financial support.
