The board regulating pharmacists in Newfoundland and Labrador is easing up on a 30-day cap on prescriptions after a nationwide effort to protect supplies has brought inventories back to pre-pandemic levels.
The easing will happen over the next few weeks but just how it plays out will vary with each pharmacy.
Margot Priddle, registrar and CEO of the board, says they’re leaving it in the hands of pharmacists.
People who would normally get a 90-day supply have found it difficult paying multiple dispensing fees over that period. People began to stockpile a couple of months ago, prompting the limits.
PC Health Critic David Brazil calls it great news.
