The City of St. John’s has confirmed that it will begin phasing Robin Hood Bay back in circulation.
The landfill shut down lock, stock and barrel in late March but will ease back into operation.
It will reopen Monday for household garbage and metal only. The city is asking people not to use the landfill unless necessary and to wait before dropping off yard waste.
Monday will be for those whose surnames begin with the letters A to E, Tuesday F to J, Wednesday K to O, Thursday P to T and Friday U to Z.
Access will be restricted to respect physical distancing requirements, so expect delays.
The dump will accept yard waste beginning May 25.
City Parks Reopening Under Social Distancing Guidelines
Municipal parks in the capital city reopen on Monday, but social distancing rules still apply.
The parks will reopen for walk-through only.
Community gardens are also open as of today, but with certain restrictions in place.
One-directional travel signs are posted on trails that don’t allow for two-metre separation for users.
Gatherings of ten or more people are not allowed in municipal parks.
Community centres remain closed, while all playgrounds, courts, dog parks, skate parks and outdoor sports facilities, including pools, splash pads and beaches will remain closed.
