The Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador took to Facebook to wish the province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health a Happy Mother’s Day.

Dwight Ball acknowledged the hard work Dr. Fitzgerald has done to lead the public through the COVID-19 pandemic, work that often keeps her from spending time with her family.

Dr. Fitzgerald also offered Mother’s Day wishes to all mothers across the province during Friday’s COVID-19 update, including those who have been working alongside her in public health.

She says it’s been a very challenging time for those working in Public Health for the last three months. She says there are a lot of mothers on her staff, and she is sending her best to all of them for working tirelessly throughout this time.
