The internet can be a great place to voice your concerns about any number of topics, however what is often forgotten is that social media discourse is not on the public record.
St. John’s city councilor Maggie Burton discussed the issue earlier this week at city hall.
She says that while getting the discussion rolling online about applications before the city is great, you need to officially submit your comments for them to be considered.
She says submitting comments on an application by email ensures they are put on the public record and will be included in the agenda on the day a decision is made. She says there is a great amount of power in emailing your thoughts.
You can find emails to city departments and councilors on the city of St. John’s website.
