Newfoundlanders and Labradorians may actually get to enjoy some of their new freedoms this week as the island is expecting double-digit temperatures.
On Friday, Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Janice Fitzgerald lifted a few more public health restrictions including some on camping and playing tennis.
The province is hoping to be gifted with temperatures in the double digits all week, as Environment Canada Meteorologist with the Gander Weather Office, Justin Boudreau says temperatures are expected to top 20 degrees in metro on Friday.
However, Boudreau cautioned that winds and rain could still play a factor.
Boudreau says a sea breeze will persist throughout the week that could drop the temperatures down a little bit, and a decaying cold front could cause some showers on Wednesday and Thursday.
