A large picnic shelter burned to the ground last night in the third suspicious fire in Grand Falls-Windsor in just a week.
First responders were called to Gibson’s Field off the Corduroy Trail system at around 10:30 p.m. Crews set to work extinguishing the fire, but the structure was a total loss.

Fire Chief Vince MacKenzie says it’s the latest in a series of suspicious fires at recreation facilities in the town over the last week.
He urges residents to be vigilant, and report suspicious activity to police.
