The first day of summer will be a little chillier than expected. A frost warning is in effect for the metro area tonight.
Meteorologist with the Gander Weather Office, Todd Anstett says the advisory will continue into the morning, but warmer temperatures are expected Sunday evening.
Anstett advises plant owners to take precautions and move them indoors if possible.
While it is not the optimal Father’s Day weather conditions people were hoping for, Anstett says it is not unusual.
He says it is very common when we have high-pressure ridges from the North, but it is certainly not ideal for the first day of summer.
