A number of popular nature facilities reopen to the public today.
Salmonier Nature Park, as well as the Cape St. Mary’s and Mistaken Point ecological reserves are once again welcoming visitors.
Salmonier Nature Park will open from 11 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. daily, with an hour in the mornings reserved for seniors and those who are immunocompromised or living with disabilities.
The number of visitors will be restricted to a maximum of 60 cars in the parking area at a time. Group sizes are limited to ten people.
Social distancing must be maintained, and washroom access will be limited to what officials call “one bubble at a time.”

Meanwhile, the number of people allowed to visit the Cape St. Mary’s viewpoint is limited to six people at a time. Officials warn there could be line-ups at peak times.
All hiking trails at the Mistaken Point Ecological Reserve will reopen and guided hikes to the fossil site will be allowed on a reduced capacity.
