Twillingate RCMP are investigating the destruction of a utility trailer as a case of suspected arson.

Police were called to a trailer fire in a field near Route 340 on June 22, at around 6 p.m. The trailer was carrying a commercial fishing seine—both were completely destroyed. The equipment’s value is estimated to be over $50,000.

Investigators suspect arson, as it had been raining earlier that day, and there were no natural ignition sources for the fire.
