It can only take a second for a cozy fire to burst into a blazing inferno.
That’s from St. John’s Regional Fire Department.
The department says it is important for people to practice safety when enjoying a fire while camping or in their backyards.
To be safe, make sure wind speeds are not in excess of 25 km per hour and smoke does not cause annoyance to anyone around the property.
They say not to use any gasoline, kerosene or starter fluids to create rapid fire and to properly dispose of the ashes when the fire is over.
