The Mokami Status of Women Council in Happy Valley-Goose Bay is hosting its very first Shameless Strut, an event aimed at bringing an end to rape culture, victim blaming and the shaming of sexual assault victims.
The council says it is about taking the power away from derogatory labels.
The walk, set for August 31st, is open to all genders and participants are welcomed to wear whatever makes them comfortable.
Walkers will meet at the Supreme Courthouse parking lot at 2:30 p.m. and head toward the Status of Women’s Council on Grenfell Street where they will hear from a guest speaker.
