Families and residents of Conception Bay South can look forward to a brand new community park.

Mayor Terry French says phases 1 and 2 of the $3-million project will begin immediately. He hopes that by the beginning of next summer many of the facilities will be ready for use.

The park will include a splash pad that doubles as an ice rink in the winter, an inclusive fully-accessible playground, and a new performance stage, which he says is lacking in the community.

Mayor French says it will be another venue for artists from CBS and across the province to use for off-the-cuff performances and smaller events. He says it will give artists young and old, a chance to share their talent.
