The summer edition of the MQO political poll shows the Liberals maintaining their lead over the PC’s in July.
Support for the Liberal Party is virtually unchanged from the last Atlantic Matters poll at 50 per cent, the PC’s also held at 34 per cent, and the NDP are favoured by 13 per cent. Support for the NL Alliance also showed little change at one per cent.
Stephen Moore, vice-president of MQO Research, says the Liberals and Tories remain tied in St. John’s and the eastern region, but the Liberals have healthy leads in central, western and Labrador.
The provincial Liberals have the biggest lead among males – they lead the Tories by 22 points.
The Atlantic Matters poll was conducted by telephone from July 25th to the 31st, and included 400 randomly-selected eligible voters from across the province.
The margin of error is 4.9 percentage points 19 times out of 20.
