The NL Alliance is hoping for candidates in all 40 districts this time around as a new provincial election is on the horizon. Candidate applications open today to represent the party in a future election.
The political party was formed by former PC party president Graydon Pelley in time for the election last year, but ultimately only attracted nine candidates. This time around, they’re hoping for a full slate.
Pelley says with everything happening with COVID-19, now is a good opportunity to get the process going.
He indicates he was contacted by the president of the NL Alliance, and the executive felt this was a good opportunity to get people who are interested in running for the next general election. Pelley says this will give people the chance to get ready to build their teams and get their message out, across the province.
As for a fall election, Pelley states that anything can happen in Newfoundland and Labrador politics, so they want to make sure they take every opportunity to ensure they are ready when the time comes.
Interested candidates are asked to fill out a form on the party’s website at http://www.nlalliance.ca/run/
