An essential service ferry schedule is being put in place this morning as there was no movement with the deal between the provincial government and the Canadian Merchant Service Guild.
The guild is the union that represents the province’s intraprovincial ferry captains.
The deadline for the agreement, which was initially set for August 21, was moved to today.
The routes include the Bell Island – Portugal Cove run, the Fogo Island – Change Islands route, St. Brendan’s, Long Island – Pilley’s Island, and Ramea – Grey River – Burgeo.
Other routes are not affected. Trips for medical emergencies will continue as normal.
Commuters and travelers are encouraged to check the provincial government website for schedules and daily service updates or call 1-833-NLFERRY (653-3779).
