Shop local is the mantra being repeated as the retail sector continues to recover from the devastation wrought by the pandemic.
Jim Cormier with the Retail Council of Canada says while many people turned to online shopping during the long period of self-isolation, he’s encouraging people to get out and support their local retailers.
Whether they be small, medium, or large, local retailers pay taxes, employ Newfoundlanders and Labradorians and contribute to the community says Cormier—unlike large, international, online retailers.
