The highway was closed for an extended period, and then opened in one lane on an alternating basis while crews worked on clearing debris and wreckage from the road.

There’s no immediate word on the natire of the crash.

The intersection has been shut down since March as work to construct a roundabout linking area roads with the Team Gushue Extension got underway.

The Team Gushue Extension is expected to open by the end of the year.

He told VOCM Open Line with Brian Callahan that they were relieved to learn that the sauce is largely solidified.

“They broke one tank yesterday and they ran into a solid product, which is a bonus. We still have 109 or 110 approximately to go, and the more solids we get, the easier this project will be…and the cost will be a lot less.”

Police pulled a vehicle over on St. Clare Avenue in Stephenville around 1:30 Friday afternoon.

A passenger jumped out and ran from the scene with officers in quick pursuit.

Thirty-four-year-old Michael Kane, who had a previous warrant out for his arrest, was taken into custody nearby without further incident.

He was held in custody over the weekend to appear in court on charges including failing to comply with the conditions of a release order.

His next court appearance is in August.

The investigation continues.

Police were contacted around 1:00 Tuesday morning, about 45 minutes after the caller heard a loud bang outside their home on Badcock Road.

Responding officers conducted extensive patrols of the area but no people or vehicles were found.

RNC were called to a home in the centre city area around 1:30 Saturday morning.

A man was found at the scene with serious injuries inflicted by a weapon and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The police investigation determined that Crane and a second man entered the home, and assaulted the man inside while demanding money.

Crane was arrested last evening in the area of Carter’s Hill and charged with break and enter, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, robbery, and breaches of probation and release orders.

He was held in custody to appear in court.

Police were contacted on Sunday morning.

Two people, wearing masks, were captured on surveillance cameras entering the front lobby of the building, and breaking into the ATM before leaving the scene on a side-by-side ATV with an undisclosed amount of cash.

RCMP say the theft occurred sometime between 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25th and 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 26th.

Police were called to the scene near the Goose Restaurant shortly after 4:30 yesterday afternoon.

RCMP say Gander Fire Rescue doused the fire, which caused traffic delays in both directions.

The fire is not considered to be suspicious.

The President of NL’s Youth Parliament, Leah Patterson, calls it a great opportunity to help teens and young adults learn more about the political process.

She says she hears a lot of young people say that politics doesn’t interest them, but “politics concerns everybody. It doesn’t have to interest you, but it impacts you, whether it’s health care, school, the cost of your tuition, where you want to travel…”
