The brother of Terry Fox says the new Pan-Canadian Marathon of Hope Cancer Cares Network is the continuation of a dream that began almost four decades ago.
The new network, which connects players in cancer treatment from coast-to-coast, was announced yesterday in St. John’s on the 39th anniversary of the start of Fox’s journey.
Darrell Fox, brother of Terry Fox, was in St. John’s yesterday. He says the network is a great step forward for the Terry Fox Research Institute. He says the project builds on the institute’s work over the last 39 years.
Fox says his brother had a special place in his heart for the province and specifically St. John’s, where his journey began. He remembers how supportive the province was of his brother’s journey. He says that Terry was “home away from home” while he was here.
