The federal government has announced $15.7 billion dollars to build new Coast Guard ships, but not everyone is happy about it.
The Conservative Shadow Minister for Fisheries and Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, Todd Doherty says the Liberal government waited until the “last minute” to make the announcement.
He accuses the federal government of having no plan to deliver, and says the Liberal record on shipbuilding is “abysmal.”
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made the announcement in Vancouver Wednesday where it’s expected that up to 16 of the new ships will be constructed.
