Here’s an update on the SPCA in St. John’s and the plan for a new regional facility to help meet demand.
The organization launched the Way Home Capital Campaign some time ago to raise the funds.
Executive Director Karen Mahoney says they have their building plans in place, now they just need the money to actually build it. The total cost will be about $6.9 million, and they currently have about $4 million.
Mahoney says the facility will be much more spacious and have their own vet clinic.
She says the added space will allow them to help more animals, and the value of the vet clinic is “immeasurable” as it will allow animals to be cleared for adoption sooner.
