The driver of a vehicle that was involved in two separate collisions on the Trans Canada this morning is believed to have suffered a medical event.
RCMP started getting calls about a westbound vehicle driving erratically on the Trans Canada in Terra Nova National Park this morning around 9:20.
The vehicle, a blue Hyundai Tucson, then turned around and headed east.
It was involved in two separate collisions. The first was in the park, and the second was near Port Blandford, where the vehicle was so heavily damaged it could no longer operate.
RCMP say the driver, who was not injured, was taken to the Dr. GB Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville.
The driver involved in the second collision suffered minor injuries.
Police say an initial investigation suggests that the driver may have been experiencing a medical event.
