The city of Corner Brook has reached a new collective agreement with the International Association of Fire Fighters.
The IAFF Local 1222 ratified the new agreement last week.
The deal is retroactive to January 1st, 2020 and will remain in place until the end of December 2023.
It includes a nine per cent annual wage increase over the four year agreement as well as improvements to sick leave, standby pay and annual leave.
Mayor Jim Parsons says the city only runs by the hard work of staff and he offered his thanks to the union and negotiating teams for reaching what he calls a balanced collective agreement.
