The Mayor of St. John’s is urging people to do their duty when it comes to picking up after their pets.
At yesterday’s St. John’s city council meeting, Mayor Danny Breen revealed that over the weekend he received an influx of complaints about people not picking up after their animals.
Breen says he has seen it himself in the parks and on the trails, noting that it has created “quite a mess” and there is “no need for it.”
Breen says, especially now, people want to get out, and for people to have to contend with such a mess is “unacceptable.” He says owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.
