It appears someone has been leaving notifications at homes in one Paradise neighbourhood informing residents of a registered sex offender living in the area.

The RNC is not responsible for the distribution of the notices, but it is aware of them.

Law enforcement officials say a process is followed prior to the release of a registered sex offender into the community. That assessment process is guided by law and by privacy concerns, and each case is different.

The National Sex Offender Registry is available to law enforcement officials but is not available to the public.

The RNC says if a member of the community is concerned, they are invited to reach out to the police.
