A 25-year-old Shearstown woman, who was already suspended from driving, is scheduled to attend court on a number of charges following a rear-end collision this week that sent two people to hospital.
Bay Roberts RCMP and paramedics were called to the scene of a three-vehicle collision on L.T. Stick Drive around 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 28.
Police say the driver of a grey Chevy Equinox failed to stop and slammed into the rear of a Chevy Trax that had slowed to stop behind a third vehicle that was stopped on the road attempting to make a left-hand turn.
The collision caused a chain reaction collision affecting all three vehicles.

The drivers of the Trax and grey Chevy Equinox were taken to hospital with injuries. RCMP say the driver of the grey Chevy Equinox was driving while suspended and the vehicle was not insured. According to police, it’s the third time the woman was found operating a vehicle without insurance and committing other traffic violations in the last 18 months. She’s been charged with driving without due care and attention, driving while suspended, and operating a vehicle without insurance.
The investigation continues.
