The RNC confirmed that a 35-year-old man has been arrested following an incident at the tent encampment in Bannerman Park yesterday.
The Constabulary says they were on site providing assistance to a group that were cleaning up the area.
While parked near the park, the unnamed man walked over to the police cruiser and began to throw glass bottles; breaking out the window while the officers were sitting inside.
The officers, uninjured, quickly exited the vehicle and arrested the man, who was charged with property damage under $5,000 and breach of a probation order.
