It’s not unusual to see the Brad Gushue rink struggle in the early-going of any tournament but such was not the case on opening day of the World Men’s Curling Championship in Switzerland.
The St. John’s-based foursome needed an extra end to defeat Czechia in the opener on Saturday, then prevailed over Germany 8-5 in the nightcap to move to 2-0.
Things don’t get any easier though as Canada faces the defending world champion, Scotland, Sunday morning at 9:30 NDT. Scotland demolished the United States on Saturday.
