Two waterbombers are on scene through the evening hours on Wednesday.
It comes on the heels of a dry week and a fire ban, which warned of a dry forest in western Labrador.
Some posts to social media show the fire burning near powerline equipment, and a subsequent power outage has been reported in Labrador City.
VOCM News will have more information as it becomes available.
