Premier Ball says that he has fixed the issues surrounding the Mitchelmore Report, and that Carla Foote resigning from the Rooms is a part of that.
He was responding to questions regard his appointment of Foote to an Assistant Deputy Minister position in the Office of Public Engagement.
Minister Christopher Mitchelmore was suspended for two weeks and forced to apologize for his role in having Carla Foote hired at the rooms following a Citizen’s Rep report calling the action “gross mismanagement” of public funds.
While opposition leaders have accused the Liberals of unfettered patronage in the case of both appointments, Premier Dwight Ball says the matter has been addressed.
He says they have fixed the issues debated in the House of Assembly surrounding the Mitchelmore Report and that Foote has resigned from the position in question.
